so what is your fav carpet to install?

i like penthouse stuff due to its quality and has a soft backing.

however you tend to get a few long rows you need to shear down from time to time

I agree again with you Matt, penthouse are a dream to fit, even in the winter the backing is nice and supple. Its apity other manufacturers dont make their carpets the same. I supply a lot of startwist and heathertwist, by Lano carpets, and not only do they perform well, but they are lovely to fit aswell

Anything from Victorias's or Brockway, the backing is awsome. You can stretch them tight enough to bounce a coin on, even when its cold.

I fit quite a lot of Tomkinson Berber & Twist, also Hathaway for Georgian carpets.

A carpet which i sold rolls and rolls of a few years back was Island Weave by AW, it was a good price quite nice to fit and looked good when down........ however I had to back to a job to uplift all the carpet (not because of me but because of the cowboy bulder who built the extension) and I was horrified to see how much it had flattened on the stairs in a relatively short space of time. the carpets were supposed to go back down but by the time the extension was rectified by a new builder only some of the rooms fitted ! Had to order lots of new carpet which was good for me but not for the poor customer :|

    cheers

Ive got to agree that Brockway and victoria make life easier with that backing, nice and light too. For a woven carpet bell twist is pretty nice to fit aswel

Yeah, I was thinking I should definatly not be carrying this, the knees were going a bit. Didnt help that the pole was probly half the weight
