My new van has got those hasp padlocks on the doors, are they pretty tough or should I get a van vault as well?
Depends on where you live, where you park, and how much you value your tools. A mate had everything, locks, vault etc. They still done him, and got the lot.
best security is to remove your tools. My van is very secure but if a thief has enough time (so through the night) then nothing is safe no matter how hard you try to secure it. With my van being very secure it basically puts off your opportunist theif. What it does tho is advertise to your pros that you may have something inside to hide, hence teh pros will pick out your van if always parked in same place. If you can get in with keys in 30 secounds then a theif we be not long behind. We had a chap that was on a course that had is van done over the night before he came to us. He arrived with a hole in the side of his van. The theifs had cut the side of the van open with tin snips.
