Following from the deleted thread, I've tried the 11mm foam and it doesn't feel too squishy (placed carpet sample ontop)

So I'm wondering about using 9mm Tredaire Softwalk underlay for audio room and stairs instead of Duralay Treadmore. Reason being I'd need to order two rolls of the treadmore for the stairs alone, and there is a massive difference in thermal and acoustic performance between the two 9dB is massive, 3dB is twice as quiet so that's six times quieter.

    Treadmore
    Tog Rating 1.03 Tog
    Impact Sound Reduction: 32db

    Tredaire Softwalk
    Tog Rating: 2.69 Tog
    Impact Sound Reduction: 41db

I believe treadmore is higher durability, but if I get 10 years out of the softwalk on the stairs that'll do. And it lasts longer than sponge waffle anyway?

Just received samples of the above two. Treadmore is quite firm, and being rubber is grippy, which'll help on the stairs to reduce underlay slide? But knocking on the top with fist on a worktop shows difference in noise reduction, the foam is much better.
