Does anyone holiday in the uk?
We have a week away in summer with are family. We have gone a haven park for the last 7 years. Sick to death of them. Have just been looking at butlins in Skegness. Costs alot more then haven but looks like you get more. All about the kids these holidays so want more stuff for 5 & 7 year old.
    Anyone been to butlins?

I always used to love butlins in minehead as it's perfect for kids and if you upgrade in the food diner its quite nice, the only problem really is its too packed in the evenings to get a seat in the 2 venues.
The one in minehead has a load of private static caravans around a lake and you can pick one up late season for £250 which includes all the passes. It's nice and quiet and away from the common people.

Have you thought about centre parcs? It's really good and so much to do. We went last year and wouldn't hesitate about booking again.

I posted about Butlins in Skeggy before.
It's expensive, there are no English staff, the rides are run by pikeys who charge according to how many bets they will be placing at the onsite Ladbrokes (that's right, an onsight bookies, you can see which end of the market they're trying to attract).
If that's not enough to put you off, you'd be wise to wear steel toe-caps to counter the constant threat of the thousands of mobility carts (we honestly saw an entire family of six, from Grandad to Grandson, all with their own carts) Incapacity benefit goes a long way these days.
Oh, and don't forget earplugs. Pop them in from 1am onwards for when Chantelle and Chelsea have a Special Brew inspired catfight over Darren, right outside your caravan. Expect this to happen every single f**king night without f**king fail.
If you want to use the Gold restaurant, be aware that they throw a dozen Cup-a-Soups in a bowl and call it a "starter".
The rest of your meal will come from a tin, and you'll be charged twenty five quid for the privilege.
Maybe it's changed in the four years since we were there, but I doubt it.
Still, don't let me put you off!!

Well looks like its back to haven then. To be honest I hate these holidays, its all about the kids and my dad an step mum can't fly so that's why we all do a family holiday.
This is the last one this year.
Been centre parks and loved it but no nighttime entertainment for the kids ( 5 & 7 ) so go there when they get older.

I take the wife and kids to Haven as well. Went Watchet, Somerset last year. Nice site but too quiet for my liking. Off to Devon Cliffs in July. Wouldn't go skeggy if you paid me, ok for a coach trip with a load of thugs, just to smash the ****hole up. Couple of Haven sites nr Scarborough which aren't too bad
