First question - anyone know of the thinnest electric ufh system available? Second question/opinion- I'll be fitting a load of Amtico and karndean for one of my customers but he only wants ufh in 2 areas, 1 being the kitchen (18m2) off the hallway and a small study (7m2) also off the hallway and the rest without. Sub floor is concrete and all areas will be in lvt. Hallway itself (12m2), a utility, WC, the kitchen on the left side and the study on the right hand side. Existing floors are: Kitchen CERAMIC - Which are being removed Remaining Areas - 10mm laminate All skirts were put on top of the floors so once removed we have the gap issue... We have to keep the same level throughout as he doesnt want any step ups into the 2 ufh areas so would have been needing to bring the hallway up atleast 10mm. Initially I was thinking 2 coats of screed because the ufh areas I was at first going to use the thermal primer to keep the level down so I didnt have to go to thick in the non ufh areas (10mm max) but now I'm sacking of the thermal primer because it just dont retain the heat as well as the actual thermal boards so where I was starting off with thermal primer (1mm if that) and the Rayotec 4mm matting I was going to sling 8mm of prep over that and away I go BUT.... ....now I'm starting with 6mm thermal boards and then the 8-10mm over the mats then I have to raise the non ufh areas to match (another 6mm to account for the extra height from the ufh areas) Customer doesn't want to lose to much of the skirting so I suggested ripping them off and putting new ones on top once lvt is fitted, it's the only way which he is kinda swaying towards but prep wise to raise the other floors to match what would you do? Screed....screed.....and screed? Boarding then a coat of screed? Used jumpax years ago but any other type out there?
