Shot myself right in the foot yesterday, I had a full flat to do... then three bedrooms. All in all, it was around 130 / 140 sqm. I had two cuts, for the bedroom and lounge. The lounge was 4.30 and the bed room was 4.10. I fitted all the bed room first as there was no furniture in it, so i used the 4.30 in the bedroom and stupidly didn't check the sizes. Only to find out that when I layed the lounge out it was the bedroom carpet. Now I have to order a new carpet in, comes to £574.00. What a expensive mistake. ****.
westex...ultima or something like that. nope... thats cost price. when i order it through the shop they add on vat and 10% handling charge, even if i ****ed a job up.
they add on vat and 10%! id kick off big time about that, but to be fair id have checked the labels, when your fitting expensive gear Double and triple check.
Yeah... its a absolute joke. Nevermind... trying to not get all worked up about it. Nightmare... just when I am in the process of getting my van on the road.
make sure you dont let the shop manager check the back of your van for spatre ulay/plates etc from now on then!.
Shame as its a f### up they couldn't let u have at cost ........remember that when the boots on the other foot
can you not open up an account with westex yourself mate and get it at cost price, they're not too fussy over opening them mate.
If you are employed by the shop ( cards in ) they are not allowed to charge a profit on a mistake, they can charge you the cost but not any profit !! I don't know if that applies to subbies but I would try the same arguement and see if it works . Phil
whats happening with the replacement piece ? cant they get something back for it ie sell it as a remnent or use it on another job?
Some manufacturers/suppliers offer and uplift and restocking service and they then sell it on. There is obviously a charge for this roughly 20-30% but it would certainly offset some of the cost of the new piece.
