Hi Guys (and Gals, better watch the equality police!)

I lost my job recently after a year of employment and really can't believe the lengths some companies will go to to shaft people..

Had an email from the accounts "lady" today, claiming that they hadn't received all of the receipts for my company credit card and without them cannot claim back the vat - Guess what mug is having it taken from their final months salary?! Ok, it only actually amounts to £45 but right now, with Christmas around the corner and more kids than Madonna it stings like a bitch!

To add insult to injury, I'd worked overtime (unpaid) almost every week, had only one day off sick (day after working 16 hrs!!!) and was having to buy my own tools as they were reluctant to put their hand in their pocket.

Oh, and was promised a bonus for recruiting fitters and seeing through the completion of a large project last Christmas but then wasn't paid it as they only just broke even - the job was going Pete tong before I joined the company and at one point could've put them out of business.

Companies like this make me realise how much I need to get my own business up and running - and I hope I remember never to treat an employee so shabbily!!

    Rant over

I'll reserve the naming and shaming until I've sought advice over what defines defamation! If they'll be so petty over £45 I wouldn't be surprised to see a libel summons drop through my letterbox
