been looking to get a new trowel and have been looking at the many different options and was looking for a 3inch wide one when I found this on the refina website, technically a plasterers trowel but do you reckon it could be used for smoothing compounds? I know the spikey roller does all the hard work but if it gives a better first finish might be quicker to use.
Looks like the trowel slips on and off those plastic covers. I can only presume the comments are towards diy as after 29years of doing the trade I can't see how it would make his life easier?? As polishing the skim coat now available has changed in the last 2yrs and don't seem to be pink anymore and you can't keep playing with it if needed..
Looks interesting mate, no idea what all the plastering banter is about but get one & let me know ? I've always said what ever feels comfortable really but I hate proper round tipped screeding trowels just can't get away with them.
My mate and his dad use these for plastering and a lot of the lads on site I see them using these a lot more but cant see it being different to a normal trowel for our game. Plastic part slips off and after watching them when they did my house it does look plane sailing and bit quicker with the less 'go overs'... I got the 4" wide vagina trowel and love it. Best one ive had by far. Doesn't warp as easy as my other trowels. I use that and a good one I found at Jewsons....in fact it looks more or less the same as my vagina trowel!
Haha dont know why 'refina' reminds me of 'vagina' so thats its nickname lol ...already broken in with my massive righthand ...no protection either
