Had a call from a customer saying that they have a rotten section in a portacabin and looking to get replaced, am assuming it is caberboard of some sort but how do you attach new section to supports? Am assuming it will be metal joist of some sorts and anyone know the joist centre size before I take a look?

Wow I use to know this and I think its either 16" apart or 18" apart, on 6" x 2" and they are usually tied in with steel C beams along the full length with various nogings inbetween, but it really does depend on the age of said porter cabin. If its off the ground as it should be you can have a quick look underneath or if it has a skirt then remove a section to have a look. Some are chipboard and some are ply and then theres the others OSB ply I think thats what its called that ply which looks like its loads of shavings glued together.
The most likely place they begin to fail is right in the doorway, may be prudent to use some joist hangers to for some extra support off the main joists.
