Hi all, I have been looking at joining the nicf, I wanted something that would set me apart from other fitters and wanted to do some training courses. I have been through the forum posts and find that the general consensus is that floor skills would be a better option for training and I could do a master fitter exam at floor skills. I have trained with the nicf in the past, back in the days of John Roberts, but not sure on the current standing of the nicf in the trade and if membership is beneficial? .

Thanks for the reply Roidsey, I’m just looking at my options. Did you require a copy of bs 5325 2001 to do the written exam, as I have the 1996 version, but not sure how much it was updated?

I dont own a copy although I will get one, I think they just want to see someone who pretty much knows how to do things right and has standards

Floor Skills training is excellent. Give them a call they will answer all your questions honestly, and to your benefit.

Thanks for the advice Andy, I have booked two courses with Floorskills. I’m just debating whether to join the Nicf, so I can have a something on my business cards/ letter heads/ clothing that customers can recognise I’m part of an institute
