nice, good stuff that 700 flex.

so what was your reason for not fitting direct to the plywood you installed?

What do you use the blue stuff around the edge for?

    its a bit long winded...

the original floor was 14mm eng with 2mm foam u/l, on top of 18mm chipboard with a 7mm foam back, on top of 18mm ply. the ply was fixed to 3" x 2" batons which (it became apparent) were NOT properly secured to a concrete base. having removed the flooring and chipboard, it was obvious the ply had to be removed to see what was going on below. - hope you're following so far!

having secured the batons, the floor level had to be built back up to the original level to suit the door frames. so height of original subfloor + floor = 59mm.

new subfloor = 2 x 18mm ply + 18mm blocks = 54mm. Even allowing for adhesive, the new flooring would still be a fair bit below the door frames.

    sorry forgot about the foam....

since the skirting had been removed, it prevents the smoothing compound running off the edge of the ply. its really useful comes as 15x15mm or 30x30mm
