Got a hallway and wc to do in distinctive flooring but they have an internal drain that they want covering. Was thinking of using jumpax and floating over it? Any1 came across this before? If so what did you do/use? Thanks
I've screeded & boarded over them a few times ! Only issue is if the water board need access anytime which is very unlikely because they shouldn't be in a house in the first place & there's normally another outside drain to the same part of the system ? I've seen kitchens with 2 in for no reason ? I've got 4 drains in my garden for no reason I'm sure 1 was enough ?
Can you not just screed over it. If they ever need access it's only 2.25m2. They would still have to take the jumpax up and tiles which would cost more to replace.
I went over one in a conservatory few months back. Just screeded over it. Stuck with ps so if they ever need to rip it up then can. I marked it on a drawing for them.
I've gone over them with jumpax, also gives you some chance to level it out if the drains not flat as the jumpax is 10mm thick. Last one I did I cut the underlay out the back of the board so it would sit flush.
