Yuk thats ugly Matt personally don't like to see it myself especially when you get a straight run all the way down water fall and then the bullnose has been caped and banded really makes my blood boil when I see that. Bullnose always stitched best way in my opinion. Did Drogbas stair case very grand it was at 1.2m wide runner had to cut onsite and the winders/kites/pies had to cut all those up seperatly. When they came back after whipping starting at the bottom one step at a time, winders started from the bottom, so gripper on the tread only as if it were skirting so 3/4 of the thickness of the carpet away from the riser, and a half inch each end short of the width, underlay halfway down the riser, then carpet face down taken up the riser to the underlay creased it into the crotch of the stairs then gripper screwed through the back of the carpet, then pull the carpet up and over onto the tread stretch on to tread as if it were a room hooked onto the gripper cut then a little stretch again just to pull it nice and tight tuck behind gripper and repeat there were more winders than straights. Looked superb as well when it was finished and only took me a day 2 flights.
I mean cape and band every step. Not just the BN. And ye, stitch the bullnose if the rest of the stairs are waterfall.
i agree with the fact of keeping all the stairs fitted in the same way but when i ask customers what they prefer its usually cap and band bullnose, even when the rest are waterfall. End of the day always keep the customer happy and never assume( make an ASS of U and ME) what they want.
