100m2 lounge/diner in a stately home. Heavy furniture full size snooker table. The oak looks mint & I agree with customer by not wanting to tackifie the oak. It's on the first floor so it's slightly noisey on ground floor from above also a bit echoey, so I suggest jumpax which would act as the floating floor and acoustic barrier. Then they tell me they want a solid brass nap lock fitting round snooker table also across the top step where it steps down to a landing. It's gonna be to high overall I.e jumpax/dura lay/ 100%wool cord. I am thinking 6mm ply nailed @ 12" centre or even 4mm to keep the height down also costs. Ideas welcome guys.

How good are the floorboards ? Nice & flat or cupped ?
If there flat you could use eggle soft underlay which is self adhesive but leaves no residue then you can glue on it. Its a bit like Instalay except sticky side down.

The boards are flat pal. They want a soft feel under foot but also needs to be quite dense. I'll look into that underlay u mention not used it before. Cheers
