    Alright lads,

Ive seen a few of you on here have talked about coil nail guns, So I'd like to know a few more questions about them

so what name and model nail gun do you use? Where do you get your nails for the gun? local suppliers or online? Ive seen a few websites selling coils of ring shanks but not sure if they will all fit different guns. Ive just ordered..

    http://www.spotnailsltd.co.uk/scn45-flooring-coil-nailer.html

and a box of 10,000 plastic collated ringshanks. Why can you get the nails in plastic and metal? whats the difference, is there a reason to use one over the other? How do you look after your guns, and is there any do's and dont's?

Ive had to nail 9 sheets of 6mm down today by hand, and boy i cant wait for this gun to arrive! :D

Most important to keep the machine oiled !
An in-line oil reservoir, on the air line, will do the job nicely.
If it`s not oiled, it will stop working.
There great tools, just need a little tlc

    Same as mine.
I have had the nails come out on the plastic ones and block the gun.
The wire ones I have now sometimes leave a bit of wire sticking up which I have to scrape up but prefer them myself
I buy them off my local supplier who gets them from spotnails. I get 10% off still.
They pay for themselves after a few jobs mate.

Very sound investment in that the time saving is immense. Don't get confused with a roofing nailer which takes a heavier gauge nail. I have a Hitachi NV50AH and nails come from a local supplier.

I bought this model but it stopped working right at the start of a nightjob leaving me in the sh1t. They were very quick to replace it, with marios help.
I think the first one they sent never had any of the blue oil in.

Well my gun arrived today, but I have sent it back  I opted for the cheap version, and I think you get what you pay for. It had plastic parts on the base of the gun which just felt too flimsy and without a case for the gun, I cant see how it would last as long as I would like, especially in the back of the van. Im going to look for a more robust model. Ive got a cracking senco stapler/brad that Ive used for about 8 years, and its still as good as the day i got it, just a shame senco's coil nailer doesnt fire small ringshanks.
