    Hi all

I will soon be fitting some new laminate flooring in our house on the ground floor. Currently there are original floorboards. I need to build the floor up by about 2cm to level the rooms up to the kitchen as it’s all open plan.

I’m also concerned about thermally insulating the floor properly.

I’ve read about numerous solutions such as Versilay, Jumpax, XPS. It’s all quite confusing. What solution is recommended to achieve above please? One that hopefully doesn’t cost a small fortune.

    Thank you.

Building up 20mm I’d go with 18mm plywood or 18mm MDF
