I have some blades I need testing if anyone is intrested please PM me your address. You will be testing 4 types of blade. 1 coated 1 which the hone is more suitable for carpet 1 with a higher carbon content 1 with Tungsten content I will require a full appraisel of each with both strengths and weakness. :ugeek: Regards Rugrat www.carpetfittersshoponline.co.uk
Stanley are the best always have been and always will be, the best test is 6mm ply 8' x 4' cutting against the grain and should only take 2 to 3 strikes of the blade anymore than that and its going to be a long day. I'd offer my address but i've tested blades before and found that like for like cutting stanley wins hands down.
I think Stanley have gone crap the last few years IMO. The tip doesn't stay as sharp as they used to. I have been trying lots of different blades over last couple years and the best I used are proflor titanium which I used on the Karndean course a few years ago. Can't get them now though.
there is a group of us down the BWFA doing some testing on Monday, can have a mess around with them if you can get them to me by Monday?
I tried the Sweeney Todd super hooks last week, only thing super about them was the size. The German blades are awsome Got a picture or a link to them mate?
Sorry I have no photo of these just 4 sample boxes 1 thats 2% Tungsten, 1 thats 1.25% carbon (same as German blades) 1 Standard with a different angle to normal & 1 which has a TiN coating, which are expensive.
The Blades are going in the post today, we will discuse them here so everyone can see what you think, please try and be objective and without predjudice to your normal blade. What you say may direct which blades we make available in future. All the blades you are testing are British made, but one is normaly only available to the German market. Thank you all for taking part and look forward to your comments. Regards Rugrat www.carpetfittersshoponline.co.uk
Sorry Dazlight I seem to have missed your PM request. I shall see if we have 4 more blades available. Rugrat www.carpetfittersshoponline.co.uk
