I have a dry cellar in a recently built property (2 years) and I’d like to put some carpet tiles down to smarten the place up. The room will be used for storage and currently maintains a temp of around 20 deg. even when it’s just above freezing outside. The current floor is poured concrete, sealed with an acrylic sealant and painted with acrylic floor paint. The tile will be cheap 'n' cheerful ones from a local source - perhaps something from Screwfix? Do I need to use any form of underlayer for installing his type of carpet tile? Size is approx. 3m x 5m. Thanks in advance.
You don’t use underlay with carpet tiles. You could use Jumpax or similar if you wanted to make the floor warmer.
