I've always used 6 mm ply a mate wa saying he uses 4 mm because it's cheaper an easier to cut! I just want to check if you can use 4 mm ply with lvt's?
    Cheers

If the floor you're going on is really level and strong then yeah but I'd always use 6mm.

All ply I can find is crap at the minute, don't mind paying for decent materials.

    British standards say min 4mm
    But
Most lvt companies say you have to use a min 6mm plywood

I'm using Travis Perkins and the ply is good. Prices good too.

I've always used Buildbase and it's good stuff, stamped and all that. I fitted a couple half sheets on the fence as a temporary measure to stop the dog getting out and after a couple months of being out in all weathers it was still ok!

like all materials there is a time and a place to use them. I dont have a issue with 4mm but i prepare the subfloor first. I sand floorboards flat and then fit 4mm.

Problem with 4mm is people install to poor subfloors and all it does it follow the subfloor. 6mm does pretty much the same to be fair. Also be careful of your fixings. They have to be ring shanked so board thickness needs to be checked as pins close to go all the way through.
