Adhesives bonds better to ply than feather so aslong as the seams don't show through the feather it's good to go
I only feather the seams unless the subfloor is a bit ropey Coil nails don't show through when there counter sunk

There's you problem then more than likely It's the feather rather than the adhesive

I always use to heat seam joins
