I would have said the 2mm strips sit higher if you put them against a 2mm tile with micro bevel...
Only had issues with karndean opus's own grout strips, they are a serious dirt trap but stopped using their AF strips.
I've got a shed load of carpet to do for a customer of mine in their new house in a few weeks and they've gone from a runner to now wanting each...
