I give them the quote and tell them if they want to pay by card then they will pay an extra 2%

I use Sum Up for card payments. No monthly fee, just under 2% charge which I make aware with the customer.

Sounds like a load of stress coming your way. Notch is way to thick and the fact that he's not fitting up to the skirts tells you a whole lot...
Why has he used 12mm ply? Was your floors pretty bad then? Pro fitter? Ask him what size notched trowel he using
Nothing wrong with 'wet set' bonding but the size of the notch he's using sounds like he's using a carpet notch trowel... As for lipping then...
Wouldn't have gone that thick on the stairs personally but still shouldn't look as loose as it does.

What underlay did you have? Thickness?
Instarmac are hit and miss for me, more miss than hit unfortunately hence why I dont use them anymore. I just think their shelf life is shorter...

Use their 150/152 and find them alright, not my first choice but do use them now and again
Mapei Na is a nice screed to use, flows almost as good as 300hd
Couple of the old boys use fball's and reckon it's just as good and got a nice discount on it. Used to get my rewmar off the internet alot cheaper...
