Never use hot melt. Always fast grip type glue for me
Pin under the nosing and then stretch into the gripper. Should get it as flat as any stair claw.

Usually when fitters get day rate, they hang it out compared to doing price work. I prefer price work, never liked doing day rate when I used to sub.
