Sanding pine boards and applying a stain.... does this make them turn orange? I've seen some pictures of some work done by various comapnies and does look impressive.
Would oak flooring on top be a better option. Whats everyone done on here to their flooring?

yes, pine tends to turn orange when sealed.

Its personal choice on if you want a real wood flooring layed over the top. If your happy with the pine floorboards then stick with them

i dont like the orange look so i guess i will look into a solid oak.

    Can anyone recommend a brand?
Can the new flooring be fitted over the top of my old floorboards?

if the floorboards are in good condition you can lay over them but at worst put a minimun of 6mm plywood over them to create a solid and smooth subfloor but if you are gluing the floor down you will need to plywood,as regards sourcing a good product there are many available so go to your local wood supplier and see what they have got
