I got a near brand new one of ebay.de for cheeeaaapppp, just had to chop the plug and put a UK one on, been bullet proof

MDF is like a sponge, I wouldnt be using that.
Lvt is alot easier to replace any potential damage if it does happen later on down the line somewhere. Is taking your skirts off/replacing them...
