My van is black and gets roasting hot when the sun comes out. There's no insulation or roof lining in the back so, after 5 years I've decided to do something about it.
Yesterday I stuck some foil backed bubble wrap to the roof then stuck 25mm polystyrene sheet to it. Stuffed underlay in the side voids as a temporary insulator.
The difference is already noticeable but now need to shade the front screen and windows when I'm parked. Made to measure thermal blinds are pricey so I've ordered some 10mm thick foil backed camping mats that I can cut and fit myself.

Thought about just changing the van but it's just about paid for and don't really want another loan

Lol, vinyl tiles come out like cushion floor! I've been dropping lvts off to people and putting them in the garage where they stay cool.

Ive had lids pop off the f60 in the back of the van, when it gets so hot.
Melts your brain when you get that in your lungs

Ive also got a black van and its a nightmare in the heat ive had to put the camping fridge in the back, the screed liquids boil and the vinyl melts but I do have nice cool drinks and none soggy sandwiches
