Doing a wood job today and started fitting the skirting. I glue them on unless they need pulling in / down then I use a nailer to hold it while the glue sets. Anyway, I'd fitted most of the skirting when my mate called me. Dark plaster - oh sjit, must be a pipe there. Nothing on the wall that needs a water feed. Luckily the plumber was there. It's the supply for the outside tap. Only 15 mm max below the surface. I chipped away a big hole so the plumber could get a pipe cutter in and fit a slip to repair the hole. He didn't have the bit he needed. I went to get it (and some more skirting). By the time I got back, he'd soldered it.
Close call...That could've got messy..Bet you were sweating lol.. I hit a gas feed to a fire once..Kin owner called the fire brigade. Two units turned up and told me it'd take a roughly a full day for the house to fill enough for it to potentially go boom boom..I was like, yea whatever, what's two units gonna cost me lol? They said accidents are accidents..I was sweating ha
Was more annoyed than worried. Unpainted plaster wall and no one had marked the pipe. You were lucky with the gas
