I've had a 240 hot jet s for just under a year but have just switched to a 110 jobby. The 240 I had on airflow 3.5 heat 4 but getting used to to 110 I've had it on 4 airflow 5 heat is this down to the voltage drop? As I couldn't get the weld to start.
Could be down to load on the transformer, especially if your on site, using the same trani as everyone. Also lead length could effect it.
Always have to go higher on a 110v welder probably down to voltage id assume as I need to go hotter even if im the only one plugged into my box.
Hi mate on a 3 kV tranny. I've had it going today at 5.5 full airflow so think it is down to the power and extension as my 240 v was 4.5 on full airflow but I've got my spinner going tomorrow on a 5 kv tranny will this make a difference? I use 110 gear all the time but have always got away with my welders being 240 but had to change for a site plus I'm in the middle of doing my nvq.
