I hired one a couple of years ago. Had my jambo doing one side, mate on the hired one on the other. Both worked pretty much the same.

Dont rate the hss ones myself, had the misfortune of having to use it to get foam backing up and it didnt work particuly well.

I can't get on with those hss ones! I got a wolf scraper off ebay for £320. Much prefer them. I was lifting vinyl tiles not carpet tho when I last had both on the job

Guess ive been licky then because I think the HSS one is ok on the foam back rip up I had. They dont seem as noisy either! Guess it depends how much force you want to put behind it to back it up. Can give you a good workout.
Prefer the wolff one though I must admit.

Dare I ask how much ?
I bought the Turbo/super stripper nearly 20 years ago, and that was loads back then.
    Great tools though !
