I`m pricing from drawings a lot at the moment. I get e-mailed a pdf file, A1 size, and then have to quote from that. Some times I get a boq, but not often. As I don`t have an A1 printer, i`m forever e-mailing them to a printer, and then getting them posted out to me. It`s not that expensive, but sometimes I need to get a quote back quickly, and this causes a delay. Anyone else have the same problem ? I`m thinking of just buying an A1 printer.
I'm in the exact same place as you! I'm getting a lot of drawings in and to get an accurate measure you really need the full size plans. I've had companies just send them in pdf but that can distort the scale and muck you up. I'm lucky just now as theres a building firm not far from me and they print off for me but I agree it would be much handier to have your own.
Bets bet is to buy a A1 printer. You can get them on ebay for couple of hundred quid. Anyway, any chance any of you being sent A1 plans could email them over to me? i could do with some for training centre. At the moment we have a few different versions but would like a bigger range. Let me know if anyone could email me some over please.
What you after Matt, domestic or commercial or both? I'll check with owners that they have no probs first
