Went to look at a potential job today, a huge area 25m x 15m. The concrete floor was new and was in 3 sections joined together. Where it was joined, one side was about 4mm higher than the other and the concrete appeared to be very hard. How good are those heavy duty grinders? Would one easily taper off this concrete raised section across an area say 60cm wide, 3 rows of 25m? Can they be hired? Or would it be more cost effective to feather finish the lower side, prior to screeding the entire floor? That's a lot of expensive feather finish and a lot of labour.
You can hire diamond grinders, and they will do it. You will pay for the hire, plus a cost for each 1mm you take off the disc. Can`t you just latex it out ? Whats going over it ? Last time I had a job that needed grinding, I bought one off ebay, with discs already on.
There's safety floor to fit over it, the type that looks like polished aluminium supplied by the customer. Problem is that the very edge of the higher section lips up a little, so screeding up to it will leave a noticeable raised line, and this isn't a straight line.
