All my gripper shearers are blunt so Ive been using tin snips ! Work a dream & never go blunt you can hit as many pins as you like

Gripper shears are pretty easy to dismantle and sharpen, can't for the life of me remember what make mine are. They've got blue plasticised handles if that helps?

Same just with the blue plastic. Gripper always cuts nice and clean and if you do hit a few pins or they go blunt, get the replacement blade from the discount shop, about 5 quid.

Mine have black and yellow handles.

They all look the same apart from handle colour. Heard the Crain ones are really good.

As with all tools it is what feels right in the hand, all gripper shears will get damaged if you cut through pins. The crain 450 will fair better due to the blades. But cost more and cost is always a consideration, both types of gripper shears have replacement blades and again we stock these as standard we try to stock replacement parts for all tools we sell. http://www.carpetfittersshoponline.co.uk/roberts-gripper-shears-rws047-2-p.asp and http://www.carpetfittersshoponline.co.uk/crain-450-gripper-strip-cutter-rws138-120-p.asp http://www.carpetfittersshoponline.co.uk/crain-strip-cutter-replacement-blades-rws139-372-p.asp and all orders over £60 +vat have FREE delivery and you collect loyalty points on every order.

We are all so considering bringing on to stock the Wolff shears if anyone has any comments regarding the Wolff Tools we would like to hear them.
