I'm compiling a set of ppe for the shop as been requested, what would you guys like in this kit? cheap? quality? basics? indepth?
I was being serious too lol don't want cheap tat pay cheap, pay twice as the saying goes and I don't like basic simple kits..
Ive got roughly a 1000 hi vis vests, and probably 500 hard hats. In fact, my vans overloaded with the poxy things. Cheap old tat is the way with that sort of stuff, totally the opposite to my outlook on tools. Mostly refuse to wear the glasses, and gloves, although it does result in some interesting discussions with on site managers. Boots on the other hand, should be good quality, comfortable, and waterproof, for winter sites
Had to laugh when I read the other day how our soldiers in Helmland have to wear hi-vis vests on base over their camo kit. Make of that what you will, not sure how true the story was but wouldn't surprise me
Going on the shop once I have got them. Goggles: 1 x Impact resistant and side ventilation, can be worn over specs too. Safety hat: 1 x basic in white Hi vis: 1 x basic Ear muffs: 1 x Basic lightweight and robust, padded Gloves: 1 pair Kevlar mix nitrile high abrasion and excellent grip, chemical and cut resistant. Mask: 3 x FFP3 moulded mask with valve
how about 2 different sets Mario? One Basic (budget) One Extensive (high Quality and Budget mix) Reason for this is some people might just be doing sub-floor prep and only need latex gloves, goggles, ear protection etc. The other might be using chemicals along with knifes etc. How about - Basic - Latex gloves x100, Full Eye Safety goggles, Ear protection, Dust Masks x10 Extensive - Latex Gloves x100 , Cut resistance gloves x1, Full Eye Protection safety goggles (as needed for some sites but steam up) , Slim safety goggles (like sun glasses that dont steam up), Ear Protection x1 , Dust Masks x10, Solvent mask x1, Hi Viz , Safety Hat, Basic first aid kit ? Barrier Cream ? Maybe even a proper box / bag to keep in? Obviously price will make a difference but whats everyone elses views on the above? Personally i would go for the extensive kit for my lads (which they have but is not cheap buying as single items from B&Q which i always end up doing)
