Well the template tools have really taken off. Everyone using them, on floorskills courses love them with great feedback. We are on to our 2nd batch of them being made already. Anyone who wants them can purchase here - http://www.tradediscountshop.co.uk/product-category/scribers/

So FloorSkills steps up the game????

FloorSkills is now designing and testing 'design' templates. What the templates do is give you a accurate template you simply place on top of scrap lvt to cut out designer inlays. Anyone who installs LVT knows the inlays are very expensive and never seem to fit accurately.

The new template tools will allow you to cut your own inlays from scrap. 100% profit ! You also get to pick and chose any colour of lvt you want.

The template tools will make many designs for you. Check out the pictures for a few examples of what you will be able to make yourself out of scrap lvt.

    What are your thoughts people?

Great stuff Matt ! I know my self about making your own which I do but a template as you say saves time & money.
Wish I had one for my 3D motif but still had fun doing it !

roms design I think its called you did? Can never remember the name of it.

We teach that on the wood apprenticeship. Easy when you know how to make out of wood. Harder out of LVT tho as no template.

The design you did is also something I will be producing templates for. Will make it very easy and not a inlay you can purchase off the shelf.

My only worry is I don't think many people will be able to use the templates wiythout being shown how they work. Its baffled my head designing them anyway to take in blade thickness allowance etc. These templates will take a lot of test work with apprentices to try and build in allowance for a average that works for all.

No idea yet. Until the first one are made and functionally the company making them cant price them. There will be many parts to them so im guessing not cheap. My plan is to get them to come in at around the same price of 1 or worsed case 2 inlay designs if you was to buy a pre cut design from them.

If I can do that then they will pay for them selves on the first job leaving 100% profit for any other designs you use them for.

Like I say its hard to price at moment. Take the curve cutting tool we have made (not for sale yet), we are mk 50 or something like that. I have to build in a around a full week of paying someone drawing CAD drawing for us that keeps changing and thenm that toi be programmed into the laser. The fact I have tied up a laser cutter for around a week messing around, loads of waste material etc. You don't want to know how much so far has been spent trying to get it right. These templates are also going to be a long progress.

Considering we have been teaching that for years on courses and you have not been on one of my courses I have come to the conclusion that you have stolen that design from one of my apprentices etc and they got it from me.SO you owe me money.

How thick is the mini straight edge mitre tool? About 2mm? Looks good as a template tool as well.

And yes its dead accurate so a perfect scribe tool. Has a measuring gauge on side also.

I showed a customer & they asked if I could do a 30m2 room like that ? I ask a few manufacture's who said they could cut tiles like it for me then the customer changed there mind lol
