I need a new one, do you buy branded ones and is 10m the average tape bought, what would you consider price wise?

I normally get mine from Asda there cheap decent quality & last as long as a branded tape plus WHEN you loose it it's not a worry coz you can just buy another with your shopping ? Ah yeah & Polyflor give out free ones if you ask but there the same as the ones from poundland lol

Size matters! Longer the better, don't care what brand.

I hate the ones that are the wrong way round. They lock automatically and you have to push the button to wind it back in. I like the metal Stanley ones 8m or 10m I think

A 'mate' of mine nicked my 10m one cus it had a Karndean sticker on it. Karma caught up with him though as I had dropped it a few times and bent the end so he was getting inaccurate readings and cutting his carpet short and couldnt work out why.

I use 8 mtr ones for measures and setting out and a 5mtr one in my pocket so me trousers don't fall down. Been using the high viz ones recently .....easy to find in the toolbox!
