Nightmare couple of days! I was rushing out the front door yesterday morning and grabbed a stray letter from the previous days mail.
I opened it on my way up to the van and read it, it was from my insurance company saying my insurance was cancelled!!
    What the...
I rang them up and it was down to not supplying proof of my no claims bonus. Fair enough, but I didn't get these requests as they sent them to an old address! No email warnings either, just the one letter, which they managed to sent to my correct address, cancelling my policy...2 weeks ago!
I've been driving here there and everywhere uninsured for 2 weeks, Doncaster and back!
So I had to spend all yesterday and today photocopying and faxing documents to them to get my policy back.
They then said they couldn't do that and I had to open a new one AND they were taking
    £75 cancellation fee!!
While I was on hold (2 hours in total!) I was browsing their reviews on trust pilot and it was shocking, people left stranded not covered and no money to take on a new policy potentially losing their job.
After that, I fuxxd them off and paid a bit more and went with a reputable company.

So lads, don't choose the cheapest on go compare and get a reputable insurer.

    Avoid..AUTONET .

I'm with OneCall now, I got hit by one of their drivers a couple years back and they were mint to deal with, hire vehicle for a month, paid for loss of earnings.

I were with auto net a couple of years ago they keep sending me letters when insurance is due, I'm now with performance direct and they were £600 cheaper

I had a similar experience with Budget Insurance over no claims. Although they didnt cancel my policy....just tripled my premium and wouldn't let me cancel without paying a hefty fee. Couldnt even take out a cheaper 3rd party policy (was for a cheap runaround car) because I was no longer a 'new' customer. Unbelievable !

In my case I did send proof of my no claims..it was down to a mix up because we owned two cars for the first time....an honest mistake which left me paying more for a 12 year old vectra than I was for our newer 3 yr old car....and Budget wouldnt Budge

Good luck if you ever have to make a claim. A lot of those van tools insurance aren't worth the paper their printed on.
