Got to refit my mates dads carpet on Tuesday. They took it up last month to do work below. He's asked me to refit it.
Is it just a matter of laying it out and kicking it back onto gripper?
    Any tips?

A wee tip I would give daz is throw another row of grips down and trim the felt back. Line up with rads first and work away. Hopefully they have stored it correctly

Get yourself a can of spray. That will help if you struggle to fix it on to the gripper, and hope they haven't folded it into a big square and left it in the garage!

Another tip mate is get it laid out flat and get some heat into it either on drive etc if dry and sunny or in room with the heating on, it will make it easier to work with.
What type of carpet is it?
I also double up gripper and use spray where needed!
Also figure out the best streching pattern for thr room because all the relief cuts are already made and you dont want to pull anything short.

Done it before. Nightmare that. Carpet was 6 months old. That had it taken up while the damp course was redone.
Had to put new gripper on. Had to buy a box? No one sells it near me by the rod :(
Just kicked it in an had to retrim it a little bit.

    Thanks for the tips lads.

Did one yesterday, I never do that sort of work but it was a reco!! Carpet was cold, been left in a heap and sat in the garage 5 weeks. Not nice to fit. Getting some heat in the room will be a big help daz.

You might have told us. I've had sleepless nights the last eight months thinking " I wonder how Daz got on with that carpet". It's so nice to have some closure after all this time.
