Hi guys, got a solid 18mm oak board I've been asked to fit and just thought I'd check a few things out before fitting. The RH is under 60%on first measure today(160 on protimeter aquant) and wanted to know if its ok to stick it to concrete subfloor(nice and flat) and what adhesive if so? I've used the same wood and stuck with lay bond before, but thought its best to double check! You can pm if you prefer. Thanks
What was your RH reading taken with? Did you use a hygrometer or did you take the '1' off the 160 reading teh protimeter told you ? If so this will not be correct. All solid wood floors should be fully bonded down. If the concrete does not need a smoothing compound then you are fine. However you should always apply a surface dpm even if you have readings of 60% when installing a solid wood floor. As for adhesive, look at rewmar or mapei.
I've sealed the hygrometer box to floor and ran through protimeter hygromaster. I'm back in a few days for another reading as I only took the carpet up today.
Ok thanks. I'm arranging fitting once its confirmed dry enough so will pop back wed and see what it says. Thanks again. Hope all is good at the centre now?
