You may want to contact the FloorSkills training center on 01564 703 900. Im sure they would like to invite you along for you to show your corners in person.

    Ask for Matt (me)

had the chaps from ' cutting corners ' along today to show us the Mitre Maker and tri-mate .

What can i say ? well it gets the thumbs up from me and the floorskills staff.

We are adding the system into our apprenticeship and training courses. Again FloorSkills are offering advanced training that no one else can offer with the help from the cutting corners team.

Thanks lads for the impressive demo of a impressive system.

I quite liked the look of the template guide but the bloody flame thrower was a step too far :flame I'm happy with ma welder for softening product :) Good luck guys, always good to see new innovations!

Flame thrower wont be used at our training centre.

We have had the demo and we will now adjust the install method to suit H+S etc. These chaps are old school floorlayers packing massive knowledge. A few tweeks and they will be producing old school knowledge with new school methods.

As far as we are concerned that flame thrower as you call it has been fazed out already.

yep, heat by using a method that does not have a flame and always use something that does not produce enough heat to set fire to solvents. (for the record the solvents had been left for about 1 hour to release so no flammable issues to worry about)

You also have the issue that if you heat a item that it can shrink away after until cooled. So for example if heating the vinyl as in the demo video you should not weld 10 mins later. It needs to be left to cool. After it has cooled then no problem. There is no stresses on the welds etc.

These chaps know what they are doing, actually nothing wrong with the actual install, like i say, a few tweeks on heating ect from Floorskills point of view and we are more than happy with this product.

I would come up to take that course.

BUT, only if I can use the flamethrower !! I will even bring my own propane.

Yes, i would say it will save you 15 minutes per corner and then it will also give you a exact match on every corner.

Basically every mitre will be uniform. You cant cock it up. The whole point being you cant get it wrong, you will have a perfect base / cove former you can work off and your mitre will be uniform. I dont care how good you think you maybe , no one can free hand a perfect corner that will be uniform on every one you do. i certainty cant.

    LOL,

Best hope he is telling you lot the correct BS standards then. I have his exam results in front of me......... .... ... And NO im not going to tell you how he did in his exams. ..... LOL

What i will say tho is this young man has plenty of potential behind him. I confidence that he will out preform most of the U.k's installers in around 18 months time

To be fair to all the others on the course, we have struck lucky. All of them are great and preforming very well.

Next challenge is to get them ready to enter 'apprentice of the year comp'
