Well my door jamb cutter got nicked off the van today and I don't fancy £160+ for a new one at the moment.
Thing is the stupid thieving mug that nicked it won't even know what it is and probably sell it for a tenner

Anyone using any of these Bosch etc. multisaw thingys? If so are they any good and how long do the blades last?

Or any other suggestions? (Other than keeping the van locked all the time:rolleyes:)

Sorry to hear that pal, hate to hear of that happening to people. A multi tool wouldnt be any good at trimming doors mate, fraid youre just gonna have to get another.

I have a Fein Multimaster and I far prefer that to a door jamb saw ( for jambs and facings etc. ) but one will cost nearer the £200 mark. I'm told the Bosch ones aren't bad though.

For cheap and cheerfully look in aldi or lidl you can pick them up for around £20 but obviously get what you pay for

the bosch ones are good but the green one is alot noisier than the blue one still looking at 175 for the blue bosch and 60 for the green one.wouldnt want to cut doors with it tho id just get a circular saw straight edge and some clamps

I don't need it for doors, I just used the other one for cutting architraves will the green one be ok for that? Don't use it that often so don't want to spend loads on it.

indeedy.. got myself the Aldi beast a few weeks back, does a good job, bit noisy but gets the job done for arch's & linings etc...

THAT SAID - when my old trusty Karlton KDT breathed it;s last breath I resorted to the ancient art of (Wait for it...) manual elbow power... I used a hand saw & off-cut for height, to be honest for best finish this is hard to beat BUT if your doing a 6 door hallway its a foooookin killer, but it'll keep you warm through the winter...! also have a Bosch 'green' multi-tool, bit noisy as mentioned but does the job not sure how much of a beasting it could live upto though, but @ £70-80 you kinda get what ya pay for eh...?
