I’m trying to locate some flooring (around 13 sq.m) to extend and blend with an existing stretch of mid-brown (with some variation) solid oak T22mm x W125mm T&G boards of varying lengths, with a micro-bevelled edge. They were originally from Floors2Go (the orange lot), which I believe has now gone under, and although their website is still running, they cannot help me. I’m not bothered if it’s engineered or solid, as long as it fits to and matches the existing floor. Any suggestions/recommendations/contacts/advice you can offer on this matter would be very welcome. The width seems to be quite readily available, if not that common, but it's the thickness that seems difficult to source. Is there a way to use thinner boards (ie: with ply or similar sheet underneath) without masses of machining/sanding?
sorry its the t&g that needs to match ,i would recommed taking aboard around a few of your local retailers and see if they can match, the other problem is oak is a natural material and unless pre finished or sanded and finished on site then the colour wont match. there a a few good fitters on this forum who if in your area would be only to pleased to help you out ,where abouts are you based?.
there are a few 22mm out there although if matching to existing and trying to fit to old wood it needs acclimatising correctly may take months from when it's purchased mate, also how was the existing flooring fitted?
