Karndean PS

I know it's always been crap but lately their ps has been unbearable. It's so thin and watery it takes ages, even assisted, to go tacky and seems to have a working life of 25 seconds!

Last job I did, I used the hand roller and followed up with the 68k an hour or so later but when I had to adjust a tile I lifted it up and there was ZERO transfer on the tile! To anyone who didn't know it would look like late placement, but I know I fitted them as soon as the addy went tacky.

 

i know its not the best out there, but we have to use it unfortunately...
Sounds like a bad batch?
How are you storing it?

 

I hate the stuff...seems to go completely dead on latex. I know we should use it BUT. F46 is better any day of the week.

 

I was using it last week and it was great to be honest, I thought it was better then the amtico ps

 

You won't get much transfer on ps Steve

 

I thought PS adhesive worked on the same sort of principle as tackifier? its more to stop horizontal movement over vertical movement but obviously with enough grab to keep it down, so you dont get massive amounts of transfer on the tiles.

 

F46 on hot days, mapei's when cold.

 

TBH I just cannae stand ps of any brand. Been using HT for years without trouble and now using Karndean Universal and liking it a lot too, just a bit longer open time. Although always be a believer of each to their own :thumbs
