My customer has a thing for butterflies, so I did her a wee sketch .... she liked it.... e voila!! This is done in Da Vinci American Oak with Australian Walnut and Indian Teak wings.
Yeah, planks done 45, I wanted to do the motif across the grain but the customer wanted it all same direction. I think it would have stood out better but what the customer wants......
Cracking job mate. how did you find the quality of the Karndean ? For some reason iv'e always found Da Vinci ok ,it seems that their other ranges are the ones that are a bit of a lottery. Some good , some bad . Was the motif cut well?
TBH I get very few issues with Karndean. The worst one I had was when Opus first came out, we had a kitchen to fit and over roughly a 3 metre run the tiles were out by 1.5mm! Karndean replaced the lot, word of the grapevine was the knives had been used for longer than recommended and hadn't been cutting accurately. Can't say I like the design strips coming joined but in fairness it does cut down on warping/twisting. The logo itself I have to say was flawless, no bad edges and it fitted first time. My best selling ranges will be Van Gogh or Art Select, it just works no hassles. Cheers guys
