I've just got back from the new training centre where I've signed up for the upskilling apprenticeship.
The centre is really well laid out and slot of time, effort and thought must have gone into getting it up and running.
It was good to meet everyone and I'm looking forward to getting started.
Thanks for the opportunity - Matt, Dave, Dan and Sid .

A huge & Very impressive training centre, well laid out, massive bays as well.
It's at least 4times the size of amticos centre, easily.
Excellent facilities, & I cannot wait to see it all when it's finished :)
Will be down next yr for some courses of course lol ;-)

    thanks for the feedback lads.

Hope to have a open day towards end of September that you will all be invited along to. Will be free stuff along with demos etc.

And ye, the paperwork ! That was the shortened down paperwork. Why colleges / government want floorlayers to fill out all the paperwork is beyond me. Its crazy.

Is that similar to the paperwork you do for the NVQ? Hope i can make the open day , sounds good. Be nice to put some names to faces!

depends on who you did your NVQ with. (some providers will simply hand you all the paperwork to fill in)

If Flooring Assessments then the paper work is worse than you would of done on the NVQ. Flooring Assessments would do / still do as much as the paperwork for you that they are allowed under the rules. (after all we are floorlayers not 'pen' pushers.)

its a joke mate. What people dont realize is, your assessor 'Ken' wont get paid a penny for his travel and work he has done untill they actually decide to issue the NVQ. (the college / government) 'Ken' has to sit there waiting to get paid and not knowing when. Crazy really. Never used to be like this.

For assessors its like working 6 + months in hand.

I like the set out of different bays to work in and not just one.
Good idea with the teles as well so you can watch some training videos while you work.
The demo rasied section is good as well. A bit easier to see what your doing.
I have some ideas for you mate too. well ring you tomorrow.

sunday was funny, we had some really spicy chicken. Few lads walking around with tongue hanging out. Daniel didn't know what to do with himself when he went running into the kitchen trying to find something to relive the burning in his mouth.
