Sound proofing

Hi all, does anybody know of a good sound proofing system for under a carpet?
my friend stays in a flat with a neighbour
below and he's looking to reduce the noise levels.

My cousin does all the if you want his number for some advice. There is alot of different products now which can be used.

 

Acoustilay 15. Very high quality... with a price to match, I used it recently and the best price i could find was £39.95m2 plus VAT. Comes in 1200 x 1200 Sheets.

 

Is that the black rubber sheets with foam in between?

that's regupol mate same stuff, QA sell it.

 

Standard 3mm regupol is good stuff used it few ties for lvt in flats I think Its 24 db rated

 

yep 24 db sounds right, best way really is acoustilay then combifelt then cpt. Great sound and heat insulation probably best combination depending on carpet.
