Had a few pics sent today of a job I need to look at. It has old quarry tiles down. But there is a basement under the floor. Does that mean there won't be a damp issue? Will do a test anyway. But because it's not direct to earth it should be ok. Shouldn't it?
still can be damp. 1- the moister below is absorbed by the floor above so can have high RH 2- support pillars etc can transport moister through them. (think of two buckets with a pipe between, add water to one and it will level itself in both buckets) First time a used a water based compound was on a floor like that. Basement underneath, it blew. I soon learnt to test every floor and dont presume
