Cheers Dan Took 3 days ( i dont do rushing about, take my time and enjoy it) Ply was 6mm malaysian and their joiner mate put it down, but typically there wasnt nearly enough nails, so i had to go round stitching all the edges etc, then skim coat etc They had originally wanted the decorative border in the hallway, told em that was a bad idea, as it was too narrow to be effective, so went with the 10mm keyline instead, turned out very nice..

I walked into a job last week and the lad there was screwing the ply down. He had pencil lines all over the floor in a big kitchen / diner lol. He was doing a good job to be honest. I did say put extra about the edges ( every 4 inches ) and make sure none stick up.
nice work there Cool did you lay the decorative border first that's the only time I lay the border first as you have to get the border even. Steve
going to say, it looks well marked out as you have come of the points of the tiles. I would presume you pre cut your field tiles with a guilly ? Must say tho, (not sure if i should say you or the customer?) but the area its fitted in works and pretty spot on considering you are fitting on the tiles corners. Normally you can only match 3 walls with similar size boarder but this looks to of dropped well on almost all the walls. Bit like the walls was fitted after if that makes sense ?
thats why i did field first mate, measure/marked it all out 1st to see if i could get away with border at the all the points.. 1 of my biggest pet hates is seeing bad set outs, id rather borders dif widths all over than them not meeting points etc
See i hate different width boarders. I prefer a fixed boarder, well i say that but if i was coming of points i will except upto say a 1-2cm difference on boarder width depending on size of boarder. BUT, if im keeping boarder true i will set the floor out so the boarder is not hitting any points but cutting into the tile so you can hide run out. End of the day its down to the customer tho. I will set out both ways and dry lay so you can give customer the choice. Its them that have to look at it every day .
i hear ya mate and deffo agree I just managed to get away with points on this particular one End of day theres not 1 rule of thumb for doing this stuff Every room/job/tile or planks etc dictates dif rules lol
Did you have to adjust the design where it met the corners at all, or did your right angle go round perfect, must of been tricky ?
Had to slice in a couple designs against the end stops mate Nothing that wasnt expected tho Pack n parcel with this type
The design that goes around the unit that juts out , are they pre cut , or have you cut them in yourself ? And which lvt is it ?
