John is looking for a decent cheap compressor. I said try machine mart as they do Clarke which are ok and low priced. Does anyone know any others?
Machine mart ones are pretty good. BUT, try and get a silent one. Building sites are not allowing compressors on site anymore unless they are the quiet type. You dont want to buy one to be told you cant use it.
Yes Cool I did see that at Aldi, in fact I bought the brad nailer but not the compressor. It was a 2.5hp for £99.99 but I don't know if it was the quiet type. Matt how would I know if a machine was the quiet type - does it say on the box? or is it to do with capacities? Thanks for your help with this Daz.
they tend to say silent on the box or side. The compressor should also state how many DB of noise it make. The amount of noise its allowed to make is different depending on where your working. I think on the site i was on they would not allow the chaps to use there compressor if it was louder than 85db Just for reference see the attached chart. It shows how long at what DB your ears can take before they become damaged which can lead to hearing loss.
