Forbo quick fit is the one a friend off twitter uses alot with LVTs and easy to get hold of so will have to use that. All the painters fault this for not letting us take the old flooring up on Monday.
Sounds like a lot of my jobs doesn't matter whos fault problems are the floorlayers will get over it, why are we the one who end up solving others cock ups
Because so many installers are happy to not follow British standards etc. Why is it only our trade that cracks on and does things the wrong way. If you was to ask a plumber or electrician to do something not to the rule book they wont do it so why do floor fitters keep doing it and dragging our trade down? PS, that is not a knock at you personally Bournemoth ! Im speaking in general
I will hold my hands up ans say yes I've cut corners and not done things by the book when I first started out because if I didn't someone else would and I felt that I need to take the risk as work was hard to find 2 years ago but not now in the last year I have on a few occasions ive taken extra materials out of my profit to do the job properly, I know this is still wrong as the customer is getting a correct job for a cheaper price but I would now rather do it right and not make as much profit and not worry, I will add this is on a rare occasion and don't do it on every job ( I couldn't afford to ) prob only happened on around 4 jobs 99.9% of time now the price is to do it correct and if a customer won't pay it I walk away
Alot of people and company just won't pay. This is a solicitors and when I said we could take it all up an Ashpalted on Monday, screeded Monday night and laid Tuesday for about £500 which was a guess they said no. Do the quick an cheap route.
LOL, being a solicitor Daz they will know that if you take on the work you are not only liable if the floor fail's but you are also liable for the costs to put the area back to a working area + any costs occurred on top! and what guarantor does the manufacturer give with there floorcovering? 1 year or more? if its 10 years your responsible for the flooring to stay down for the next years!
