Which BS relate to the installation of solid wood plank flooring?
In particular, does it state in the British Standards that solid wood must be installed by direct gluing or secret nailing and does it say definetly not to float solids?
Reason for asking is that I've been offered what could be a good earning contract but they want the wood floated using elastilon or similar.
I'm reluctant to accept the work unless the flooring can be installed floated and still meet the BS.
I couldn't find anything about it in BS 8201 2011 that specifically says install this way or that way.

you can float solids on certain underlay systems etc. Its floating them by glueing the tongue and groove together that is the big NO NO.

Also manufactures instruction for a specific product will over ride British standards. So if they say you can then you can.
